Before you apply

Avoid the
common mistakes.

Most application problems are avoidable. These are the ones we see most often, and how we help you steer clear of them.

  1. 01

    Incomplete documentation

A single missing document can delay an application or raise questions about it.

We check your file against the official checklist before you submit.

  2. 02

    Incorrect travel dates

Dates that don’t line up across bookings, insurance and the form are easy to miss.

We cross check dates across every document.

  3. 03

    Information inconsistencies

Names, addresses or employment details that differ from one document to the next.

We review your details for consistency, line by line.

  4. 04

    Missing supporting evidence

A form on its own doesn’t always explain your circumstances or purpose of travel.

We help you identify evidence that supports your trip.

  5. 05

    Poorly prepared application

A disorganised file is harder to assess, however strong the application behind it.

We help you present everything clearly and in order.

The right option depends on your passport and plans. Eligible passport holders can use eVisitor or an Electronic Travel Authority; others may need a Visitor visa, often subclass 600 for tourism. Living in the UK does not automatically make you eligible for the same route as a British citizen.

Yes, they normally need the appropriate visa or travel authority before travelling. Eligible British citizen passport holders can often use the eVisitor route for a short visit. The best route can change if you want a longer stay or have circumstances that affect eligibility.

Yes. The overseas tourist stream is normally applied for online while you are outside Australia. Include accurate details of your UK residence, travel plans and circumstances. Check that the stream fits your purpose before starting the application.

You may need passport and identity documents, proof of funds, your travel plans and evidence of reasons to return after the visit. UK employment, studies or family circumstances can be relevant. Use the document guidance for the visa stream and answer any requests for further evidence.

Home Affairs publishes processing estimates by visa type. The timing depends on the route, application and any additional checks, so do not use an eVisitor estimate for a subclass 600 application. Check the current figure and apply well before travel.

You may be asked for either, depending on your application. Follow the instructions Home Affairs sends you; do not assume every online application finishes without extra steps. We can help you understand the request and organise the required evidence.

Your visa grant notice sets the length of stay and entry conditions. A subclass 600 visa can allow different periods, depending on the decision. Do not treat the visa’s expiry date as permission to stay until that date without checking the conditions.

The tourist visitor route does not allow you to take a job in Australia. If work is part of your plans, check a suitable work visa instead. Be clear about your purpose before choosing a visitor application.

The current Australia page lists £299 per traveller for Flyinbird’s full assistance. The government application charge is separate and depends on the visa route. Ask for the confirmed total and payment terms before starting.

Visiting family or friends can fit the tourist stream. Explain where you will stay, who is paying and how long the visit will last. An invitation can support the explanation, but your own application must still meet the visitor requirements.
